Privacy Policy – SorScrub Media Storage Cleaner
1. Overview & Acceptance of Terms
This Privacy Policy applies to SorScrub, a media sorting and storage scrubbing cleaner developed and operated by SorScrub Studio (“We”, “Us”, “Our”). SorScrub focuses on scanning duplicate photos, blurry redundant images, oversized videos, residual app cache and unused APK files to sort media files and free up device storage space.
By downloading, installing, granting storage permissions, running media scans and using all core sort & scrub cleaning functions of SorScrub, you confirm that you fully read, understand and agree to all clauses of this Privacy Policy. If you disagree with any content, please stop using the App and uninstall it immediately.
This policy complies with Google Play Developer Program Policies, Android MANAGE_EXTERNAL_STORAGE permission specifications, CCPA/CPRA, COPPA, EU GDPR and global cross-border data protection regulations for all regional users worldwide.
2. Sensitive Permission Full Disclosure & Functional Justification
SorScrub does NOT request camera, microphone, location, contacts, SMS, call logs, calendar or other unnecessary sensitive permissions during operation.
2.1 Irreplaceable Functional Necessity
Android Scoped Storage and MediaStore APIs only provide limited access to public camera folders, and cannot reach hidden app cache directories, residual uninstall folders, external SD media partitions, private download folders and deep buried duplicate media files. Without MANAGE_EXTERNAL_STORAGE full-file access, SorScrub cannot complete full-device media duplicate scanning, sorting and scrubbing, which is the core exclusive function of this storage cleaner.
2.2 Strict Local Privacy Restrictions on File Access
- SorScrub only reads static file metadata during scanning: media name, storage path, file size, format and resolution. The App never reads, parses, uploads or permanently stores the private visual content inside your personal photos and videos.
- No media files will be automatically deleted. All duplicate, blurry and oversized junk media candidates are fully displayed to users, every scrub deletion action requires your manual checkbox confirmation before execution.
- All media analysis, duplicate matching and sorting logic runs fully offline locally on your device; no raw image or video binary data will be uploaded to any remote cloud server under normal use.
- You may revoke the All Files Access permission at any time in system application settings, which will completely disable all media scan, sort and scrub core features of SorScrub.
3. Information We Collect
SorScrub only collects fully anonymous, non-identifiable technical data for App stability maintenance and cross-device compatibility optimization. No personally identifiable private information will be collected under any circumstances.
3.1 Automatically Collected Anonymous Technical Data
- Device brand, hardware model, Android OS build version and SorScrub App build version
- Anonymous Google Advertising ID (GAID), solely used to deliver non-personalized advertisements without user profiling or cross-device tracking
- De-identified crash logs and performance statistics, exclusively used to fix media scanning loading bugs and compatibility faults; logs contain zero local private media content
- Aggregated anonymous usage metrics that cannot be linked to individual users or specific hardware devices
3.2 Voluntarily Submitted User Data
We may receive feedback texts, functional suggestions and optional contact emails voluntarily submitted by users through the in-app support form, which are only used for technical troubleshooting and after-sales follow-up processing.
3.3 Data We Will Never Collect
SorScrub Studio will never collect real names, phone numbers, financial payment information, identity documents, contact lists, real-time location, biometric data, private chat records and other confidential personal information of any kind.
4. Lawful Usage of Collected Anonymous Data
All anonymous technical data is processed only for the following legitimate service purposes, and will not be used for unrelated commercial marketing without separate written user opt-in consent:
- Provide core media sorting & scrubbing functions: duplicate photo detection, large video classification, junk media cache scanning and manual redundant media cleanup;
- Optimize cross-device compatibility and resolve runtime media scanning crash exceptions;
- Deliver free non-targeted advertisements via Google AdMob to support long-term free operation and App version updates;
- Process user feedback and solve functional problems reported by users;
- Meet mandatory audit, disclosure and compliance requirements stipulated by Google Play and global privacy regulatory authorities.
SorScrub Studio will never sell, trade, rent or transfer any anonymous device metadata or user feedback information to advertising agencies, data brokers or third-party commercial platforms for monetary profit.
5. Third-Party SDK Services
SorScrub only integrates official secure SDKs provided by Google LLC, including Google AdMob, Firebase Crashlytics and Google Play Billing. All data transmitted to third-party service providers is fully anonymized and cannot identify any individual user.
- Firebase Crashlytics: Collect anonymous crash logs to diagnose technical bugs and improve overall App stability; this SDK cannot independently access local private media files without user active storage permission authorization.
- Google AdMob: Display non-personalized advertisements and reasonably control ad display frequency during App usage.
- Google Play Billing: Process optional one-time ad-free premium purchases and subscription services; all payment transaction data is stored and managed solely by Google, and SorScrub Studio never stores any user credit card numbers, billing addresses or payment credentials on our backend servers.
Third-party service providers must strictly abide by international privacy protection rules and shall not disclose or misuse anonymous user data without formal legal authorization.
6. Data Storage & Retention Rules
- Temporary media scan cache data will be automatically and permanently cleared after you fully close the App.
- Anonymous crash logs and usage statistical data are stored on Google encrypted cloud servers for a maximum of 12 calendar months, and will be permanently deleted automatically after expiration with no recovery channel available.
- User support feedback records are retained for 90 calendar days only for follow-up customer service processing, and will be completely purged from internal databases after the retention period expires.
- Local custom scan preference data (media filter thresholds, excluded album folders) is only saved on your device, and will be fully cleared after cleaning App cache or completely uninstalling SorScrub.
Under normal use scenarios, no private user media files will be automatically uploaded or synchronized to any remote cloud server.
7. Data Security Protection Standards
We adopt industry-standard TLS 1.3 end-to-end encryption transmission, Android application sandbox isolation, quarterly automated source code vulnerability scanning and strict backend staff access control mechanisms to ensure anonymous technical data will not be leaked, tampered or illegally accessed by unauthorized third parties.
No electronic storage or data transmission method can achieve absolute 100% security. We recommend users set screen lock passwords or biometric verification to protect local private photos and videos stored on the device.
8. User Privacy Control Rights
All users have complete independent control over App data collection behaviors:
- Disable anonymous crash statistics and advertising tracking functions through the system native privacy settings page at any time;
- Clear all local App cache and custom media scan preference data via the device application management panel;
- Revoke MANAGE_EXTERNAL_STORAGE storage permission to disable all media scanning, sorting and scrubbing core functions;
- Uninstall SorScrub completely to permanently terminate all subsequent anonymous data collection behaviors.
9. CCPA Consumer Rights for California Residents (USA)
If you are a permanent resident of California, United States, you hold statutory rights under the CCPA and CPRA: you may submit a formal written request to inquire about or demand permanent deletion of anonymous device statistical data associated with your advertising ID. SorScrub never sells any user information, and exercising your CCPA privacy rights will not lead to service discrimination or restriction of core media cleaning features.
10. COPPA Children’s Privacy Protection Provisions
SorScrub media sort & scrub cleaner is designed and marketed for users aged 13 and above, and is not oriented to minors under 13, fully complying with U.S. federal COPPA regulations. We will not knowingly collect any personal identifiable information from children under 13 without verifiable written parental consent. If you are a legal guardian and find minor-related data exists in our records, please contact our dedicated privacy email, and we will complete full permanent deletion within 14 working days after verifying your guardian identity documents.
11. GDPR Data Subject Rights for EEA, UK & Swiss Users
Users residing in the European Economic Area, United Kingdom and Switzerland enjoy complete GDPR data subject rights including data access, erasure, restriction of processing, data portability and objection to anonymous telemetry collection. All cross-border data transmission from European regions adopts Standard Contractual Clauses (SCCs) officially approved by the European Commission to maintain consistent data protection standards.
12. Policy Update Rules
We reserve the unilateral right to revise, amend and update this Privacy Policy irregularly to adapt to changes in Google Play platform rules, international privacy laws and SorScrub function iterations.
Major policy revisions involving data collection scope, permission access scope and privacy protection clauses will be notified to all active users via in-app pop-up reminders at least 14 calendar days before taking effect. Minor text wording corrections will only update the effective date at the top of this document without separate advance notifications.
Your continued use of SorScrub’s media scanning, sorting and scrubbing functions after the policy update takes effect constitutes your full voluntary acceptance of all revised clauses of this Privacy Policy.
